Yesterday, I officially declared the demise of Lunacy's current hardcore raid. With the departure of several members and a leadership vacuum created by the departure of the person who was supposed to take over, we can no longer continue raiding in the same capacity. This doesn't mean a Lunacy raid won't exist again in the future, it simply means the next incarnation of the raid will be only marginally connected to this one in terms of leadership, intentions, and people.
I've written a memorial for the raid and posted it here. It explains our raiding history and why many of us have stepped away from raiding in a little more detail. But you should know Lunacy as a guild isn't going anywhere. We will still be playing socially and casually.
The raid had a good run in its 33 months of existence. We went from an entirely new guild in Karazhan, to one that got the vast majority of server firsts all the way from Serpentshrine on through the current content.

We perhaps hit our ultimate peak in SWP, particularly during our first kill of Entropius and the farming period we had in SWP before 3.0.
To commemorate this peak, I offer you a few videos. You can download Timewasted's video of our first M'uru kill here, and his video of our first defeat of Kil'jaeden here. You will need a codec pack for playing the files, as they are in MKV format. If you need help with that, please visit Matroska's guides here and click the link for the relevant playback guide. Here is a link to a stream of Ink's K'J video.
For clarification, Ink is Australian and the kill happened on August 11th, not November 8th.
Thank you all for supporting us for the past 33 months. And thank you everyone who has ever been a part of this guild. It was you who made the game fucking awesome!
I'll still see everyone around,
--Steve, aka Lilume
P.S. Yes, this means we're no longer recruiting.
