General Information & Rules

Lunacy is now a guild focused on different areas of the game. Within the guild will be subgroups with different areas of focus. This may result in merely one group for each area, or multiple, so long as different groups in the same area don't negatively affect each other. For example, we may have a rated BG team and a raid. Or we may have a rated BG team, a raid focused on hardcore competitive PvE, and an extremely casual raid without expectations. With each raid having completely different goals, there should be no conflicts of interest.

The guild will also have a social component to it for former members of our TBC and Wrath-era raid, as well as family and very close friends of long-time members. This will be limited to some degree, however, depending on how these social members affect the guild on an operational level.

Each group within the guild will operate autonomously. This means one group should have have expectations of another for aid. For example, the rated BG team should not expect core members of the raid to assist them in PvP. And vice versa. That being said, the possibility that once can help out the other in times of need should be a boon to the guild's overall health. If the raiding portion of the guild just loses its main tank, for example, and a PvPer in the guild happens to have the gear necessary to fill that slot when it's needed, it's possible they could temporarily play the part until a replacement is found or a replacement is ready from within the raiding team. Or, if that person is interested, he or she could perhaps join the raid permanently.

That being said, each subgroup will be clearly defined with their own rules and expectations for members of that subgroup. While social members and members of other subgroups would be welcome to apply or state their intentions of joining these subgroups, that does not guarantee them a spot. They must meet the subgroup's expectations and go through whatever hoops the group decides is necessary. It is important that all members of the guild understand this. Becoming a member of Lunacy does not entitle you to participation in every aspect of the guild's activities. You must go through the necessary processes to become a part of each activity.

And this shall be the first rule of the guild:

1. Members should realize they are not entitled to participation in every activity of the guild. They must meet the standards and expectations for the subgroups focused on the activities they wish to join. Though some subgroups may be more open than others.

The other major rule is pretty simple:

2. Don't be an asshat.

There are no rules for general membership other than these. You can find the rules for specific guild groups in their respective sections. And if you're wishing to apply to join the guild as a specific member of any group, please see the information on groups of your interest for information about how to join them.
